*after a long time and several alt. fc changes, i have returned to using holland roden - lydia's original actress - as my fc for this muse. she IS lydia after all, she has the supernatural / banshee content, her gifs and icons are compatible with my PSDs and easier to edit, and it just feels right. i understand that she has been a victim of cancel culture, and i don't condone any off-color comments she may have made in the past but i'm also mature enough to separate reality / fiction. i'm sure we've all said some things in the past we're not proud of and our friends / family have given us the grace to learn and grow from it. celebrities should have the same right. she's also a very good actress, and i appreciate those who stick by my side and support me no matter which fc i use. if you really don't agree with holland as a fc, i will use madelaine petsch as an alt for you but this is what feels true to my muse.

mysterious, scary intelligent, sassy and drop dead gorgeous, LYDIA SAYERS is the perfect model of alpha female energy. she appears sociable, sassy. flirtatious with plenty of drama — HELL ON DESIGNER HEELS with a reputation of throwing the best parties in town, she IS the party … but she’s more than just a pretty face. calculating, secretive and poised to a science, she always seems like she knows more than she lets on & she’s HIGHLY INTUITIVE ( a gift both natural and supernatural ). catty, precocious and sharp tongued, lydia’s been said to have claws & she’s the last woman to be trifled with, but she’s far from a stone cold bitch. lydia’s most essential traits are compassion and empathy & she genuinely wants to connect with and HELP people. so fiercely loyal that she would die for her friends. perfectionistic and self critical, she can become melancholic and sad if she falls short of her own expectations because she cares so much and loves deeply. but underestimating her is ill advised ; lydia sayers is a supreme OTHERWORLDLY BADASS.
BACKGROUND:
lydia’s world of lipgloss and when she began hearing v o i c e s & the visions began, party queen LYDIA SAYERS ' life would change forever.
feeling the pull of the supernatural. the prophetic dreams started. the voices haunted her. death and lydia had a psychic connection. her heightened intuitive senses went haywire. this explained her ominous predictions, her enigmatic aura. & visions that led her to fatal scenes. OMEN KISSED since birth, LYDIA SAYERS is a BANSHEE.
lydia discovered a few tricks and the power to access other psychic realms. she could bend sound waves in music, accessing otherworldly frequencies and listening for psychic cues. automatic writing and drawing became another ability. eventually she could induce premonitions, defend others with her fatal sound waves and fully embrace her mystic identity.
with a new sense of confidence, lydia found BALANCE between her unearthly fate & PARTY GIRL PARADISE and reclaimed her crown while trying to help figure out what the hell is going on and SAVING HER FRIENDS.
lydia is intellectually gifted with an IQ of 190, and she maintained a high school GPA above 5.0. her specialty is mathematics, but she also knows several languages including classical & archaic latin, french, spanish and can easily translate especially dated texts. she is intrigued by scientific theories that question the limitations of the natural world (like multiverse theory, etc.)
she can interact with spirits of the dead, possessing traits of mediumship. she is also an empath, hypersensitive to the emotional energy of others. she is especially drawn to certain feelings of angst and sadness, and it colors her own aura like it’s personally happening to her.
she is wildly creative. she writes poetry & often uses symbolic imagery from her premonitions, also keeping a journal of her dreams.
she can transcend her body as an ethereal apparition to warn others of danger / impending death.

she suffers from nightmares ( that often go hand in hand with premonitions ) & signs of posttraumatic stress disorder.
her connection to death & the supernatural isn’t her whole identity, and she wants to have a colorful life aside from that. she wants to have normal experiences and do fun things, because she’s psychic but she’s also human. she doesn’t let everyone know about her banshee status, keeping it a secret from most of hawkins high but she doesn’t want to be treated like a personified geiger counter for death or supernatural metal detector. she isn’t just here to fix everyone’s problems because she knows stuff, she’s not a deus ex machina. ( that said, threads may include elements of the occult but everything must be supernatural themed ! i write lydia to explore everything she never got to in canon because i personally think she deserved much better. )
banshees, from the old irish bean sídhe or literally “woman of the fairy mound”, are mystic women who predict impending death. according to mythology, to hear this unearthly wailing woman means that you OR a loved one is going to die.
BANSHEES, while otherworldly in poise and presence, are very much “human”. they bleed and die like normal people, but they have enhanced psychic abilities & are highly sensitive. these women are known for their eerie intuition. a banshee can hear other banshees through a supernatural “hotline”, or a telepathic hive mind as well as voices of the dead. while their voices do signal fate, they don’t bring death or bad luck but their screams can serve multiple purposes. besides the universally known death omen, the scream of a banshee reaches a POWERFUL frequency that can be destructive to nature and architecture. its intensity can shatter windows, blood vessels and even human skulls without volume control. harnessed and cultivated, a banshee can use her scream to fight creatures of monstrous dimensions, enemies and dark energy in any form. the “mist” often depicted is actually their aura in action.
lydia can easily communicate with spirits or the dead ; the veil between ghosts and the living is pretty much nonexistent to her. PREMONITIONS allow her to predict death, often in the form of visions / hallucinations / dreams if not other “voices” sharing information. these premonitions may be experienced through spontaneous visions, automatic writing /drawing, touching something that triggers them or self induced with the help of white noise or soundproof spaces to mute distractions.
she may appear in others’ dreams to warn them, accessing other dimensions (the void and the upside down in my stranger things verse ) and transcending their physical vessels. lydia can use supernaturally charged frequencies to amplify her scream for more potent effects.
while banshees are creatures of darkness, they are not monsters or killers by nature. they do not bring ill omen upon those who encounter them, but warn and even intervene to PROTECT them.
this muse was inspired by the pilot script of mtv's teen wolf, her last name being SAYERS and not martin. i thought the show was ridiculous and poorly written, but i did fall in love with lydia's character and this is a reimagination of what i feel she deserved and could have been. i feel she was done a huge injustice by the glee writers who replaced the OG writers circa season 5, so my portrayal will be p r e t t y canon divergent.
because i'm a huge fan of stranger things, i began writing that crossover and made the creative decision to reshape and base her there entirely because i realized how much i was enjoying it and it was so much more fun, explaining my url.
i will SELECTIVELY interact with teen wolf muses, but i don't want to see any sterek content or pedophila or anything that gave the fandom a bad name. that's partially why i rarely interact / participate in it.
